Uttar Pradesh's voter list for the 2027 Assembly election is being revised: draft on 12 November 2026, claims till 11 December, final roll on 4 January 2027. Step-by-step PDF download, Form 6, 7 and 8 explained, documents, and lessons from the SIR.
The voter list that will decide who can vote in the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly election is being prepared now. On 21 October 2026, the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Uttar Pradesh announced a Special Summary Revision (SSR) of electoral rolls for all 403 Assembly constituencies, with 1 January 2027 as the qualifying date. Uttar Pradesh is one of 17 states and union territories covered by the Election Commission's directive. Here is the full schedule and a practical guide to downloading the list, adding your name and correcting mistakes.
UP voter list 2027: revision schedule
| Stage | Date |
|---|---|
| Rationalisation / reorganisation of polling stations | By 2 November 2026 |
| Draft electoral roll published | 12 November 2026 |
| Claims and objections (add, delete, correct) | 12 November – 11 December 2026 |
| Disposal of claims and objections | By 28 December 2026 |
| Final electoral roll published | 4 January 2027 |
The Commission has also directed that officers involved in the revision — District Election Officers, EROs and AEROs — cannot be transferred between the draft and final publication without its permission, and that these posts must not be left vacant during the exercise. Political parties will be briefed at state and district level.
Where UP's voter list stands after the SIR
This revision follows Uttar Pradesh's Special Intensive Revision (SIR), the most thorough clean-up of the rolls in years:
| Milestone | Electors |
|---|---|
| Roll before SIR | 15,44,30,092 |
| SIR draft roll (6 January 2026) | 12,55,56,025 — about 2.89 crore entries dropped (46.23 lakh dead, 2.17 crore not found by BLOs, 25.47 lakh duplicates) |
| SIR final roll (10 April 2026) | 13,39,84,792 — net increase of 84,28,767 over the draft |
After the SIR, the gender ratio on the roll improved to 834 women per 1,000 men, and 17,63,360 voters were aged 18–19. Prayagraj and Lucknow saw the biggest additions between the draft and final rolls. Even so, the scale of deletions means many people should double-check their entry during the SSR.
How to download the UP voter list 2027 PDF (booth-wise)
From 12 November 2026 the draft roll for every polling station will be online; the final roll will replace it on 4 January 2027.
- Go to the Election Commission's voter portal
voters.eci.gov.inand open "Download Electoral Roll" (you can also start from the voter-list section ofceouttarpradesh.nic.in). - Select State: Uttar Pradesh, then your district and assembly constituency.
- Choose the roll type — for example the draft or final roll of the current revision — and the language (Hindi or English where available).
- Select your part / polling station. If you do not know it, first find your entry on
electoralsearch.eci.gov.in— the result shows your part number. See how to check your name in the voter list 2027. - Enter the captcha and click Download. The PDF lists each elector's serial number, name, relative's name, house number, age and gender.
Tip: Download the PDF for your polling station and check every member of your household at once — wrong ages, missing spouses and old addresses are easy to spot this way.
Form 6: add your name to the UP voter list
Who should file Form 6?
- Anyone who will be 18 years old on or before 1 January 2027 and is ordinarily resident in Uttar Pradesh.
- People whose names were deleted during the SIR and who still live at the address.
- Anyone who has never been registered.
Since the 2021 amendment to election law, there are four qualifying dates every year — 1 January, 1 April, 1 July and 1 October — so young people turning 18 later in 2027 can also apply in advance and will be added in the quarter they become eligible.
Documents for Form 6
- Recent passport-size photograph.
- Proof of age — birth certificate, Class 10 marksheet, passport, PAN, driving licence or Aadhaar, among others listed in the form.
- Proof of address — Aadhaar, bank or post office passbook, utility bill, rent agreement, passport, etc.
- Aadhaar number is optional; you can choose to provide it.
How to apply online
- Log in to
voters.eci.gov.in(or the ECINET app) with your mobile number. - Choose "New registration for general electors (Form 6)".
- Fill in your details, upload the photo and documents, and submit.
- Note the reference number to track your application. A BLO may visit to verify your address.
You can also fill a paper Form 6 and give it to your Booth Level Officer or the ERO office, especially on the special campaign days during the claims period.
Form 8: correct details or shift your address
Use Form 8 if your name is on the list but something is wrong or has changed:
- Correction of name, age/date of birth, gender, photo or relative's name.
- Shifting of residence — within the same constituency or to another one.
- Replacement EPIC (voter ID card) without correction.
- Marking as a person with disability (PwD).
Form 7: objection to an entry
Form 7 is used to object to the inclusion of a name — for example, a deceased family member, someone who has permanently moved away, or a duplicate entry. Objectors must give their own details; false objections are an offence.
Why the 2027 voter list matters
All 403 seats of the Uttar Pradesh Vidhan Sabha go to the polls in an election expected in February–March 2027, and a party or alliance needs 202 seats for a majority. Many seats in 2022 were decided by margins of a few thousand votes. A clean, complete roll — with every eligible young voter, woman and migrant worker included — matters for the fairness of that contest. Under the law, names cannot be added once the last date for nominations of an election has passed, so the November–December 2026 claims window is the best moment to make sure you are on the list.
